Another thing to ponder.
Something to ponder… evolution! If you believe in it, that is. If not, still read this, just think of it as an ‘imaginative thought’. Let’s see, where was I….. oh yes!
Now, let me give you an example that will confound you since I haven’t actually told you what it’s an example of. Glasses! Yes, glasses. They help people who are either near sighted, far sighted, or vampires who need sunglasses! Oh yes. Now, glasses are just one example of… drum roll… the way we hinder our evolution as the human race! If you are of the human race, then by wearing glasses, you are trying to conform to/function in society.
I’m going to say, for the sake of simplicity, that ‘Near’ is near sighted, ‘Far’ is far sighted, and I have average vision.
Now, when Near looks at a room, would he not notice things that I wouldn’t? I would be looking all around, trying to take in everything, and would miss the marble behind the vase, or the feather in the window lock. But Near would be going around, inspecting things closely, because otherwise he wouldn’t be able to see them at all, right?
Far would be looking at the walls, noticing how the picture is slightly out of place, that the air duct seems to lead to another room. I would just look at the room and note that there was nothing unusual. Isn’t wearing glasses hindering the perception of supposedly ‘abnormal’ people?
What if they’re just the next generation of the evolution of mankind, because they can percieve things differently, and maybe better, than ‘normal’ people can? They might just seem to be struggling in society for 2 reasons:
1: we are so used to ‘normal’ vision that we segregate those who cannot see as well unconciously, or maybe even
2: our society is fitted to having ‘normal’ vision, and society is mainly filled with conformists, so it is practically impossible for society to accomadate the evolution of our species.
Well, after that long ramble, I implore you- Ponder That.
Anyone ever seen zeitgeist?
(Official Site) http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/
Zeitgeist is very controversial, apparently. But isn’t that an opinion? So the very opinion that it’s controversial can be controversial according to the opinion of someone else. Which would mean that it’s moot and we’re all going to have our heads explode trying to figure out who is correct. I don’t think it’s controversial, but there we go- another opinion. Confusing, isn’t it? I do like zeitgeist, but it’s basically, (or atleast zeitgeist addendum) more for americans, since it concerns it’s government. People should watch. It also concerns religion, government, profit, cheap labor, etc. It’s a movie that started a worldwide movement. Now that’s influence, people.
